How we estimate real value
Most bonuses come with a wagering requirement, the number of times you must bet the bonus before withdrawing. The more you wager, the more the house edge (1 − RTP) costs you. We subtract that expected cost from the bonus to estimate its real value.
Tips for better-value bonuses
- Prefer lower wagering requirements (25-35x is common; lower is better).
- Clear bonuses on higher-RTP games where they contribute 100% to wagering.
- Check whether wagering applies to the bonus only or to deposit + bonus.
- Watch for max-cashout caps on winnings from no-deposit and free-spins bonuses.

Frequently asked questions
How is a bonus’s real value calculated?
We estimate it as the bonus amount minus the expected cost of meeting the wagering requirement. That cost is the total you must wager multiplied by the house edge (1 − RTP). A $100 bonus with 35x wagering on a 96% RTP slot means wagering $3,500, with an expected cost of about $140, so the bonus’s expected value can be negative.
What is a wagering requirement?
It’s how many times you must bet the bonus (e.g. 35x) before you can withdraw winnings. Lower is better. Some casinos apply wagering to the deposit + bonus, which roughly doubles the requirement.
Does RTP affect bonus value?
Yes. The higher the RTP of the games you clear the bonus on, the lower your expected cost, so a higher-RTP slot makes a bonus worth more. Game weighting also matters: some games contribute less than 100% to wagering.
